Chanaral Chile

CHANARAL, Chile- I just want to be out of here. Prior to this stop there was just one town in South America that I did not like — Yurimaguas, Peru. Now, I must report, there are two — Chanaral, Chile.

[adsense]Kids throwing temper tantrums, dogs trying to eat my food, that lovely pack of Dobermans patrolling the beach, carcases of fish to sea lions to cats and dogs litter the beach, a local told me that he would break my head if I tied to feed his puppy a banana when I was actually trying to keep the little f’ck away from me, the teenager who just  mocked my Spanish when I asked him for directions, the dummy who saw fit to fix the hotel room door next to mine at two in the morning, and the overall miserableness of this whole place has made me place a big black X mark over it on my map of places on this planet to avoid.

But I have to stay here until tomorrow if I want to catch a bus to Parque de Azucar. It may not be worth it. Perhaps I will make a run for it to San Pedro de Atacama.

Maybe I will find some other travelers to tramp with there and rearrange my mood.
