Archaeology Fieldwork in USA

Good to hear from you again. September is actually the best time for finding archaeology fieldwork in the USA. The contracting firms often want the archaeology work cleared by winter, so the autumn is a busy time for digging. This is often compounded by the fact that numerous permits and nonsense need to be approved before fieldwork begins, so oftentimes projects that are slated to begin in the spring and summer do not actually begin until autumn.

September is the perfect month to return to the USA to jump on an archaeology project.

Good to hear that you are still traveling. Going to India, eh? Taking the ol- traveling litmus test? Good on ya. Have fun.

I just traveled in Iraq a little and recently crossed back into Turkey.  Going to Syria in a couple of days.

Original question about archaeology fieldwork in USA

Hey man,
Wanted to write to say hello and to see how your travels have been going.  I’m in Vietnam right now, heading to India in five weeks.
If you have any time, I wanted to ask you a small favor.  It seems like most field work runs through the summer, May, June, July, August, but do you know of any companies that offer work later in the year, maybe beginning in September?  I’m planning on being out until at least August, thought I might try to plan ahead a little bit so I’d have a way to make money once all of mine is gone.
