Pregnancy Update —

“Chaya, I need to publish a pregnancy update on the travelogue,” I spoke one day to Chaya.

“What are you going to say, ‘Chaya has a baby beluga inside of her?'”

Yes, that sounded good. Much better than how I previously planned to begin this travelogue entry:

————
“If Number Three is deformed, then we are moving to India,” Chaya spoke one day while sitting on the Bangor porch, “There are lots of deformed people in India, and she will fit right in.”
————

I think that the latter statement is much too terse . . . even for this travelogue.

But terse statements aside, the VJ family is quickly traveling into the ninth month of pregnancy.

For nearly nine months, Chaya has carted around a wandering fetus who will soon turn into a wandering baby who will soon turn into a . . .

Chaya still tries to climb mountains. Last week we were up at Moosehead Lake, hiking in the woods, calling wolves, and trying to climb up mountains.

Chaya is one tough woman. I have no fear for her going into child birth . . . on our kitchen floor . . . with a midwife . . . without any pain medication.

As I watch this woman with a baby beluga growing inside of her still going to work and cooking good spaghetti dinners, I think that I have found my hero.

Due date: end of August, 2009

Bring on Number Three!

You are a very lucky man. Whatever you do, when she is delivering DO NOT let her get a hold of your hand, or any other parts that you value. There is a good chance that, for a few seconds at least, she will hate you more than anything she has ever hated before. Not something I have experienced, but have learned second hand.

I’m a midwife, gave birth twice myself, highly recommended experience! Used a tiiiiiiiiiiny bit of pain medication to soften things up, no opiates though………….Good luck!

      Thanks Reina,

I appreciate your suggestion and will run it my Chaya. But I think she wants to do it while feeling everything. We’ll soon find out though.
