They’re off. The New Silk Road Project expedition has begun. This is the Jeep journey from London to Yiwu that I recently joined. They picked up the Jeep yesterday — Jeep sponsored the expedition with a new Rubicon — and then spent the next seven hours trying to find someone to insure them, which apparently wasn’t an easy task (who the hell is going to insure four British uni students and me on a 12,000 kilometer journey across Eurasia?). But they managed to pull it off.

In two hours the team will be loading the Jeep onto a ferry at London Gateway bound for Rotterdam.

It has begun.

Follow the journey on Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube.
