Where I’ve appeared in other media sources this month.
This is where I’ve appeared last month outside the realm of Vagabond Journey:
VICE
I was interviewed for a story on VICE about the interesting adaptions that China’s daigou — illegal importers — are making in the face of a widespread government crackdown. Read it here:
Forbes
I published five articles on Forbes this month, bringing my total up to 200 articles that I’ve published with them since January of 2016. I took a little more than a year long sabbatical from publishing with them to free up some time to work on film and book projects, but now I’m back.
I had three stories do rather well this month, one is up to 99,000 views, another brought in 85,000, and a third attracted 35,000 visitors. The remaining two also did decently, coming in at around 10,000 views each.
My stories this month ranged from China’s activities in Africa to floating cities to Americans receiving unordered packages from Asian criminals to China’s new solution to solve its housing crisis to why China’s development model can’t be exported. You can check them out below:

I was also surprised to find a nice review of Ghost Cities of China appear in the John Hopkins University journal East Asian Science, Technology and Society. Read it here:
