This bike was driven by a local, right into the corner of a big truck at a high speed. He was wearing a cheap helmet, which shattered. He did not survive. This was 15 miles into my first day.

    I know what you mean… we’ve been in Thailand for four days and I’ve seen two accidents already, one happened before my eyes.

    Note to foreigners: if you can’t drive a motorcycle, Thailand is not the place to learn. Note to self: do not attempt to drive a bike here.

      I agree completely. Road rules are often a culture in and of themselves, and if you are not of a particular country it may not be the best idea to learn to ride a motorcycle there.
