ASTORIA, NYC- A new batch of books have arrived. I now have 50 copies of Ghost Cities of China to sell at my speaking engagements (whenever they begin again) as well as to anyone who’d like to order a signed copy.

It kind of makes me feel excited looking down at that pile of new books. It makes me think of doing talks and meeting with people, book signings, being out in a crowd of people at an event. Speaking events are kind of the author’s equivalent of the victory lap, and it’s something that I’ve come to miss a little these days as I sit around my NYC apartment waiting for this pandemic nonsense to end.

If any of you would like a signed and personalized copy, feel free to click the button below and I will get one sent out to you if you live in the US or Canada. If you live elsewhere in the world just get in touch and we can discuss shipping rates.

Thank you!

Thanks! How’s things in Kenya? Would be interested to hear how the local people are doing now. Any chance of doing another part of your series?

I’m not the best person to ask about this. I don’t do affiliate programs. It’s basically just no-risk, no-investment, free advertising for the company. But a lot of other bloggers love and (apparently) make money from them. Try it out. If it doesn’t work remove their ads.

Hmm… That’s not really a problem if you use ads that are 300px wide or so. That way it will appear roughly the same on desktops and on mobile. You may also be able to create separate containers for desktop and mobile ads. That’s not really a deal breaker. Although I still maintain my position on affiliates. Unless their for something that you really support and want to talk about a lot and promote, not really worth it.

Hi Wade. Have been wracking by brain to come up with a story line for Part 4.

Life is slow. But things seem busier in town. Lockdown up date is due Saturday.
    I need to ask people.
Have a few snippets of info but these are not verified but totally believable…. in Kenya everyone knows the police are corrupt as hell. (Am getting a few KENYAN followers).

Excellent! Yes, build that audience up. Just talk about daily life and people will follow. That’s what’s actually interesting. Most bloggers are writing about top-10 this and extreme adventure that and basically try making themselves as uninteresting as possible. people are interested in real life. Sit a kid down in front of YouTube and they will prefer watching these inane videos of other kids playing on playgrounds and doing normal shit over anything else. Adults aren’t that much different.
