[the_title]
People tend to wear clothing that represents their tribal or group affiliations here. Which tend to be long colorful dresses for the women and t-shirt and slacks for men. Common clothing for women are wrap dresses or skirts made from bright patterned cloth and a scarf wrapped around the head. Traditional clothing for men is a long gown similar to the boubou seen in many parts of west Africa. Today, though, it is just as common for men to wear long pants and t-shirts or button up shirts. Turban style headwraps or hats are also commonly worn.
Travelers visiting Niger should bring loose conservative clothing. Given the hot climate light colored clothing made out of breathable fabrics like cotton and linen are recommended. Women should bring skirts that go below the knee. Shorts are not commonly worn in public, but are acceptable for sports or to wear around the house. A hat to help shield you from the sun is a must.

Thanks Wade. This was very helpful when trying to write a few scenes placed in Niger for a book of fiction.
