Q: What is the weather like in Israel in the winter? What clothing should I bring?

A:

As for weather in Israel in January, think autumn. Expect temperatures between 5 and 20 degrees Celsius, 40 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit depending on your location in the country. In the south around Eilat, the temperature will be higher, while in Jerusalem significantly colder. But don’t worry, the weather in all of the country should be very comfortable.

As far as clothing goes, pants, sweatshirts, a fleece or two, and maybe a sweater or a jacket should be in order. Around Tel Aviv, it is a little wet this time of year — lots of rain — so make sure your outer garments and shoes are water resistant.

Other than this, it seems as if the weather in Israel is pretty good all year round, even in winter.
