Mesoamerica

Mesoamerica (Meso-America) is a region of the world that stretches from around the middle of Mexico south through Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.

This term is generally used when referring to archaeology or to the prehistoric peoples who inhabited this area. These cultures include the Aztec, Maya, Olmec, Zapotec, Teotihuacan, amongst others.
