SUCHITOTO, El Salvador- This is a call out for anybody with travel writing or journaling intentions or ambitions. This is a call out for any traveler — or would be traveler — who would like to publish their writing or photographs on their own, fully independent, travelogue within the frame of a larger, high traffic travel website. This is a call out for any person would would like to publish their travel writing, photos, thoughts, or inferences about this world on Vagabond Journey.com.

We are now ready to offer free WordPress powered travel journals to just about any person willing to take one.

I just put up a multi user system that allows for multiple blogs to run all together on a single site — one big vagabond community. This system can hold hundred of thousands of blogs, but, for this initial phase, I am shooting for ten to twenty. This system is just like publishing a blog on Blogger or WordPress.com, only you are publishing to Vagabond Journey.com instead — and you can make use of the fact that you are putting your content up on a well established website of similar relevance.

If you have an existing blog on Blogger, WordPress, Live Journal, Moveable Type, or another system, transferring it over to Vagabond Journey.com can be done with a click of a button.

This is a move to weave together travelers who are moving through the world and writing about it. Right now, I hope to find around 10 friends willing to take a Vagabond Journey blog and run with it. There are now ten different WordPress themes to choose from, sign up is easy, and publishing can begin immediately.

This system is still in its initial stages, so we also really need a few beta testers — people to try it out and tell me what works well, what could be better, and raise fresh ideas as to how I can take the project farther and make it a solid system for online travel writing. The individual blogs work great — everything is up and running — but some advice on how I can improve the system as a whole would be very much welcomed.

So even if you do not plan on blogging long term, just have a few things you want to get out of your belly, or if you would just like to help out a little, it would still be great for you to sign up for a blog on Vagabond Journey. Providing a forum for other travelers to come together on this site is a large part of our move into the future — it cannot just be me anymore, we are getting too big for that — we need to expand. Right now, I need to get an impression of how this blogging system functions as a whole, so please sign up for a blog and shoot up a couple entries.

The object of this project is to eventually assemble a team of around 10 full time traveling writers, 10 people who write about the traveling industry or information about travel in general, and 10 people working and living in various locales around the world who can act as regional representatives.

Together we can mesh together our entries, our thoughts, photos, ideas, and knowledge into a single place. Think of this project like a group of travelers who are on journeys through every stretch of this planet coming together each night for a beer, stories, jokes, and to muse about the Open Road.

Please help this project get off the ground, sign up for your Word Press travel blog here.

I do have a Wordpress blog, and I do write about travel in my special kinda way. I don’t suppose it’s the kind of content you’re looking for, though. But if you’re interested, I’d be happy to help you try out the system. I’m only in the habit of posting once a week.

      Hello Emery,

This would be great! I go over to Reader Travels from time to time and think that it is a wonderful concept!

I don’t want to make myself out to be any sort of editor about this haha, all types of content are welcome! The “team” part of this project just comes in on the main page where all of blogs will soon be linked and where the recent posts will appear (still under construction!), but the content on the individual blogs is 100% the prerogative of the blogger — the blogs still function as independent sites, but they are just within the frame of a large (hopefully!) collection vagabond writers.

      Thank you, and welcome aboard!

      Walk Slow,

      Wade

I am definitely interested in a blog on Vagabond Journey. I adore this site and am humbled by the writers in many cases. This would be the perfect avenue for me. How can I send you some writing samples?

    Thank you!

      Hello Megan,

I’ve taken on other projects since this post went up and I’m no longer putting much time into coding or backend work on the sites, so I have to retract this offer. Thanks for the interest.

Gotcha. Are you looking for freelance writers though for contribution to this site? I would be interested in that.
