FAQ about visas to Poland
Can I go to Poland to renew a Schengen visa?
I am an American who has come to Paris and has outstayed my 3 month tourist visa by more than a years time. I have purchased a ticket to travel to Poland and plan to return to Paris after a weeks stay. Is it possible that I will encounter problems either when leaving Paris or upon return from Poland? Thank you for your advice. And thank you for creating this site. You rock! D’shawn
Hello D’shawn,
No, it is not likely that you should encounter immigration inspections while traveling between France and Poland. But keep in mind that Poland is part of the same immigration zone as France, so the time that you spend in France will count towards your total in Poland, and vice versa. While there should not be any immigration controls while flying between the two countries the time that you spend in either count towards the rather large overstay you have already accumulated.
