New Bloggers on Vagabond Journey

I need to expand.

So I began a project a couple months ago. I invited some friends to blog on Vagabondjourney.com. I gave them sub-domains and full access WordPress installations. I wanted to see how this would work.

It has worked well.

Wayward Wanderings

Hung in the Imbalanced

Travels with Petra

These blogs were beta-tests. I wanted to see how the site would run as a group project. I make no money from the first two on the list, the last is Chaya.

I gave the first two bloggers free sites, and they, in exchange, gave me confidence in a new project.

Vagabond Journey on Virtual Private Server

Today VagabondJourney.com is making its first big move into becoming a business that can sustain myself and my family and keep us traveling. We just purchased space on a virtual private server. The cost of running this website have grown 10 fold.

“To make money you need to spend money,” my mother would tell me.

With this new server space and freedom, I now have the power to offer more travel bloggers free VagabondJourney.com websites.

Free Travel Blogs on VagabondJourney.com

Once the move to the new private server is completed, I will promptly upload a WordPress MU system. This is the blogging platform that WordPress.com and the New York Times uses. This is a system that will allow me to offer free travel blogs on a large similarly related site to any travel who may want one.

These new blogs will be a little more restrictive than the ones that Amanda, Pearl, and Chaya are blogging on currently, due to the fact that the invitation is with an open door and I don’t want a thousand individual databases on the site, but they will look good, function well, and be a part of a large, similarly relevant, travel site.

The ball is still being carted to the top of the hill, when it begins to roll I will offer more details.

Thank you for all the support over the years.

Wade
