There are thousands of different destinations that are chosen by tourists every year. However, some places that are truly the most visited places on the Earth. Here are some of them, especially after the results of research from 2018:


London is the most visited place in the United Kingdom. In 2018, there were over 19.8 million tourists who visited the English capital and all of its beautiful attractions. Some of the reasons why London is visited so much are to see the worldwide known attractions such as the Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Palace of Westminster, Hyde Park among many others.


Paris was ranked on number 3, right after London, in the list of the most visited places on the Earth in 2018. There were over 17.4 million visitors who enjoyed the city of light or love. The Eiffel Tower, Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris, Louvre Museum and Arc de Triomphe are the most well-known.


Another one of the best tourist destinations is Dubai, which last year welcomed 15.7 million people from all over the world. The Basilica Cistern, Bosphorus, Hagia Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace Museum are just some of the many attractions that can be seen there.


It might come as a surprise to people but the vibrant capital of Thailand was the most visited place on the Earth in 2018. The numbers prove why Bangkok is a huge tourist attraction. There were 20.05 million tourists who visited the city. There are plenty of places that could be visited such as The Grand Palace, Was Arun Ratchavararam, Temple of the Emerald Buddha.


About 9 million people visited Mecca in 2018. The desert valley is mostly known for being the birthplace of both Prophet Muhammad and faith. Extremely rich in history, the most fascinating thing about Mecca is the Great Mosque which gathers millions of Muslims every year and that as per the pilgrimage for the Hajj, every Muslim has to visit it at least once in their lives if they can.
