It is my impression that it is relatively safe to travel in Haiti. There are usually many people in the streets. The biggest danger that I observed in Haiti are the conditions of the roads and sidewalks. There are many gaps, open manholes, potholes, and slippery surfaces that could do a traveler great injury if they are not careful where they step.

    Hello, I am just wondering what the current state of Haiti is in regards to travel after the earthquake. Are parts of the country open to receiving travelers?

    Most of Haiti is open for travel. Go there, it is a really amazing country.
