How About a San Diego Tour With Your Kids?

Traveling to San Diego with children? Check out these fun activities.

Rafting down river

San Diego, found on the Pacific Coast of California, is the perfect destination for a family tour. Its warm climate, coupled with eye-catching beaches, parks, and lots of fun activities for kids has earned it a place as the top destination for families in the US.  While there are many fun places for kids, you will also find plenty of fun things for your teenage children and staff that you can enjoy as a parent as well.

If you plan on visiting more than one San Diego attraction, purchase a Go San Diego sightseeing pass that allows you to build personal pass options and get at least a 20% discount. More attractions will mean more savings for you, so if you have lots of time on your hands, consider including as many sites as possible. When visiting in October, you can take advantage of the Kids Free San Diego where you will enjoy free admission, hotel stays, and meals in more than 100 member hotels, attractions, and restaurants. Below is a list of some of the best things to do in San Diego with kids.

Visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park, located in Escondido, has more than 2600 animals including elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, tigers, and lions. The two most popular safaris are the Africa Tram tour and the Skyline safari. You can enjoy watching the cheetah run in the afternoon while you also get to visit the Tiger Trail and the new WalkAbout Australia.

Go to SeaWorld

If you love up-close animal interactions, SeaWorld is the place to be. You will also enjoy exceptional rides and educational experiences. Among the educational experiences is a behind-the-scenes tour, where you will learn about sea animals such as rays, dolphins, and sea otters. The kids can enjoy some climbs and rides at Sesame Street Bay of Play, while you get to have fun at the Manta and Electric Eel roller coasters.

Get to the famous San-Diego Zoo

Visiting the San-Diego Zoo is among the top things to do in the city. The zoo marks the home of more than 3700 endangered species, and 700,000 exotic plants spread throughout its 100 acres of land. If you love nature, you will be amazed at the professionally-maintained garden in the zoo. Major fun activities include the Polar Bear Plunge, Africa rocks, and Children’s zoo. To get the best experiences, get there before the park opens. Just after the park opens, you can delight in seeing the animals enjoy their breakfast.

Catch a variety of activity at Legoland California

Legoland, located in Carlsbad, has a plethora of things you can do with your kids. The resort consists of Legoland Water Park, hotel, SEA LIFE aquarium, and castle hotel. Legoland California theme park is best for kids who are between the ages of 2-12. SEA LIFE is a fun stop for kids as well. The food at the resort outlet is also good. Note that the water park is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the school year. The water park is seasonal as well.

A visit to Belmont park

Located at the mission beach, Belmont Park is the best place to be with teens. You will get to enjoy a historic roller coaster, many rides, a zip line, giant scoops of ice cream, an arcade, laser tag, and many more fun activities. Since it is located on the beach, there are a variety of excellent restaurants where you can enjoy a tasty meal.

Make a date with San Diego Botanic Gardens

Botanic gardens are perfect for an exciting day out with the kids and a special treat of nature. There are more than 30 themed gardens, and the Hamilton Gardens are especially suitable for kids. You can enjoy a bird watching tour as well as other tours which are arranged according to different age groups.
