Hasankeyf: Another ancient city to be destroyed in Turkey
The history of Hasankeyf goes back 10,000 years. This is three times longer than the Giza pyraids, 10 times longer than Stonehenge, and makes the glorious civilizations of the Maya and Inca seem as if they were flourishing just yesterday. Hasankeyf is one of the oldest places in the world. But this 10,000 year run will soon meet its ending point: the city will soon be flooded by the Ilisu Dam.

I’ve read your articles about Turkey and wished to recognize your page before your travel. There are many places like heraclia (in greek mythology; where the hercules killed the cerberus), titus the ancient tunnel, st.pierre (first church of the world), tombs of 2 disciples of Jesus, Magdalena and more.If you’ll mind to visit Turkey again, hope to guide you somehow and help you about the economic issues like places to stay, cheap or free bus travels as long as i provide and it makes me glad. Also it’s same for the other travellers who minds to visit.
