Howdy all. I know it’s been a while but I’ll try to bring everything up to date. The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy. I am now out of the house. It is officially sold. I’m staying for the next few days in Rosebud, Arkansas. I’ve still got a couple of things to wrap up, the main one being to sell the truck. Anybody want an orphaned truck. One good detail job and it looks just like the picture.
Anyway, that is the big detail. Everything else is little stuff. And, it will all be done by next Tuesday evening because I leave next Wednesday.
Now that a real date has been set, I am starting to actually get a sense of “butterflies” – good butterflies.
I feel free. No mortgage. No utilities. No termite insurance. No maintenance and upkeep. No personal property taxes. No truck insurance. No maintenance and upkeep on the truck. NO GASOLINE! See the big old smile on my face?
Everybody sing along now – “We’re off to see the Wizard. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

Sure, I can join along in that song.
Congrats on breaking free.
Where’s the first stop on your journey?
Mexico going to be first?

Hi John,
I’m headed for Guatemala, San Pedro La Laguna on Lake Atitlan. First step is at least a couple of months of Spanish school, probably one month on the lake and then one in Xela. I’ll just see how it goes. After that, probably up to Mexico for a month or so. Plans are just going to be broad guidelines from now on. The only hard and fast rule will be staying inside the visas.
