First Book Blurb – China’s Urban Revolution

Getting my name on the cover of someone else’s book …

A while back I was asked by an agent at Bloomsbury Publishing to blurb Austin Williams’s book about Chinese eco-cities. No problem — Austin is on the front lines of urban China research and is also a real cool dude. I’ve used him as a source for countless articles on Forbes, etc. China’s Urban Revolution turned out to be an extremely nuanced, informative, and at times humorous first hand look at China’s much maligned eco-cities (of which the country claims to be building over 200). Williams actually goes there. So being asked to blurb it was a real honor.

I recently went back to my parents’ house in Rochester and I got to see the physical version of this book for the first time.

I was mentioned a few times in it:

This was the first book that I’ve blurbed, so I just wanted to chronicle it here.

Check out China’s Urban Revolution. It’s definitely worth it.

That truly doesn’t seem to be a bad job. Make some money and get out on the road again.
