You’ve booked the family holiday and have plumped for Cancun. Blessed with sun and adventure, this is most certainly a good decision! The next step is to plan what you’re going to do while you’re out there. Here are a few suggestions.

Take them on a pirate dinner cruise

Kids will enjoy this dinner and battle adventure on a replica of a Spanish galleon, on the Captain Hook Pirate Dinner Cruise. There’s dinner, drinks and pirate mirth and then, when you head back up to deck after dinner, you’ll see an enemy ship approaching. Let battle commence!

Visit an Eco Adventure Park

The Xel Ha eco park boasts adventure by the bucket load. You can go on a river tour of the Xel Ha, swing on ropes and fall into a refreshing cenote, go cliff jumping or explore a jungle, to name but a few activities. There’s also the Children’s World, which has a water park, wading pool, crocodile tunnel and other facilities to make your child’s day.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Cancun

The Wet ‘n’ Wild Cancun water park, located at the southern end of the Cancun hotel zone, boasts aquatic thrills and spills. You can let your hair down on the Twister or the daredevil Kamikaze ride, or just take it easy in the Lazy River. Of course, there’s a children’s water park too which hosts mini versions of some of the park’s most popular rides.

Experience the magic of dolphins

At Dolphin Discovery you can get up close to these joyful creatures. You’ll receive a warm welcome as you enter, as the dolphins jump into the air. Then you’ll put on a life jacket, store away your belongings and undergo a short training before getting to meet the stars of the complex, the dolphins themselves. You can hug or kiss them, and they may even pull you along on a boogie board, depending on the package you have chosen.

Spend a day at the beach

Of course, you wouldn’t be on Cancun holidays if you didn’t make at least one trip to the beach. Playa Tortugas (Turtle Beach) offers the best for both adults and children. There are lots of areas where grown-ups can swim, but there are also plenty of shallow areas for children. You can also catch a ferry from the dock there to Isla Mujeres if you fancy a change of beach.

Interactive Aquarium

The small but charming interactive aquarium in La Isla shopping village is special. You can swim with the dolphins, but there are also optional activities such as feeding the sharks (you can purchase photos of your experience in the aquarium shop later) and touching the stingrays and turtle. You can see around the aquarium within an hour, but visiting the aquarium is a magical experience.

Take yourself away on Cancun holidays with the family. Attractions like these will make it a holiday you’ll never forget.
