I just finished up my first book tour and my first book, Ghost Cities of China, was officially released.

It was a big week: four speaking events in four cities across China in six days. The day after I was filmed by a Russian TV news crew for a segment that will rather strangely feature me (very theatrically) reenacting my “research methodology” for the Ghost Cities book. In between there were interviews with Shanghai Daily, Global Times, TimeOut Shanghai, and Xinhua.
I leave for London on Wednesday for more.
Ghost Cities of China was officially released today.

Speaking in Beijing with Dan Levin of the NY Times as moderator.

At the Chengdu Lit Fest with Ran Yunfei

Speaking in Suzhou with Austin Williams as moderator.

Speaking at the Royal Asiatic Society in Shanghai.
