Best Places To Go For A Wildlife Holiday

Do you want to get out into the wild on your vacation? Then check out these top destinations for a real adventure.

Going on a wildlife holiday is the trip of a lifetime. Nothing comes close to observing an animal in their natural habitat, where you’ll get to see them feeding, playing and enjoying life without the bars of a cage surrounding them. With wildlife holidays to some of the world’s most incredible destinations, the hardest part of planning yours is choosing where to go. Here’s a few of the best places to go on a wildlife holiday to get you feeling inspired:

Kenya’s Masai Mara

A large game reserve located in Narok County, the Masai Mara is a vast African grassland where there’s the opportunity to spot hundreds of different species in their natural habitats. From lions and cheetahs to wildebeests and approximately 570 different species of different birds, it’s the ultimate location for a wildlife spotting holiday. Hidden along the long grass you’ll be able to spot the hyenas, and across the long plains there’s opportunities to see zebras, gazelles, buffalos and elephants. With Exodus Travels, there’s a number of amazing wildlife holidays for you to choose to several different African reserves, or just go and visit Angama Mara.

The Danum Valley- Borneo

Hot, humid and the best place in the world to spot orangutans, Borneo’s rainforest in the Danum Valley is a must visit on any wildlife enthusiast’s bucket list. The main attraction here has to be the orangutans but it’s also possible to spot different types of birds, gibbons, red leaf monkeys and pygmy elephants amongst the trees. There are several different jungle trails you can take with great viewing platforms depending on the type of animals you’d like to see within this stunning conservation area.

Iceland

Although Iceland doesn’t have as much variety of different animals it’s a great place to spot sea life. From amazing boat trips whale watching, where you’ll be able to go on a whale safari experiencing humpback whales, dolphins and puffins all in their natural habitat. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to get close to some of the world’s most incredible creatures.

Chiang Mai – Thailand

If it’s elephants you’d like to get up close and personal with then one of the best places in the world to visit is the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, where orphaned, neglected and injured elephants are cared for. Unlike the tourists trekking camps where elephants can be abused and mistreated, the sanctuary allows visitors to bathe the elephants, play with them and nurse them back to health in an open and spacious retreat.

There is one more fantastic Elephant Sanctuary near Chang Mai. It’s called [Edited] Defo worth a visit 🙂
