I found a home for the article that I wrote about Cihan Karadag – One Motorcycle, One Man, One Long Journey – around the Middle East. Today’s Zaman, Turkey’s largest English language newspaper, should soon be running the story.

Karadag deserves any support that he receives. I got to know him a little as I passed through Istanbul, and know that he has the toughness of character to ride through some tough regions of the world along with the softness to really embrace the cultures that lay in his path. This particular balance of contrasting character traits often has the tendency of producing good travel stories. To listen to Cihan’s tales or look through his photographs is to realize that he has the grace to charm every man and woman in his path, as well as the determination to get to the top of the mountain and into the thickness of a culture and a place. I look forward to reading the transmissions from his Middle East adventure.
