There is no better time to be a fan of video games than now. With the variety of options to choose from, there is always something to suit everyone’s taste. The gaming culture has also risen to a mainstream status where there are plenty of activities you can participate in. But there is another thing that has become quite exciting if you are a fan of video games, and that is travel. Contrary to popular opinion, gamers love to explore the world around them too! And if you are looking for the top cities and destinations for your next vacation, this list might help.
Tokyo, Japan
Forget Las Vegas for now and consider going to one of the busiest and most exciting cities in Asia, Tokyo. If you love Japanese anime and games, go to Akihabara and indulge in some of the most eclectic spots dedicated to the gaming culture in general. Not only that, this city has one of the world’s fastest internet, which means you can kick back in one of the hundreds of internet cafes to relax, play games or access trusted bingo sites.
Seattle, United States
If you want to stay in the US, then Seattle is your best choice. In addition to a reliable and consistent internet connection, you can also schedule your visit to coincide with conventions and events such as the Retro Gaming Expo. Not only is Seattle the perfect getaway city for a gaming fan, but it is also an up and coming city for developers and tech companies. Case in point, Valve, and Nintendo has made Seattle their home.
Seoul, South Korea
E-Sports was born here, and South Korea is the premiere destination if you are looking for gaming competitions, dirt-cheap hardware, and fast internet. Not only is eSports big in Korea, but the country is also known for having PC rooms where gamers play for hours and even have food delivered! If this is your thing, then go ahead and visit Seoul for a one-of-a-kind gaming experience.
Los Angeles, California
The City of Angels is the central hub of anything related to media. Whether it is television, movies, music, and even gaming, this city has a lot to offer. Both Playstation and EA Sports are based in LA, making it the perfect spot for gaming conferences and conventions.
Cologne, Germany
This European city is relatively small, but it draws large crowds during eSports tournaments such as Gamescom and ESL One. The neighboring city Frankfurt is also quite famous for gamers; hence coming here would not be a waste at all. Since the city is also conveniently located near France and Denmark, you can always cross borders and see what other countries have to offer.
London, United Kingdom
Another up and coming destination for gaming enthusiasts is London. The city is already catching the eSports fever, and there are plenty of bars you can hit to get your game fix. The recently opened Red Bull Gaming Sphere is another spot you should not miss. It is a state of the art studio where you can experience the latest game consoles and VR tech.
