The most visited and arguably the best national park is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park stretches across two states: North Carolina and Tennessee; hence you have plenty of space to cover.

The national park is famous for its natural beauty, including fantastic wildlife, waterfalls, indigenous plants, and mountains. The term smoky mountains arises from the fact that the mountains in the park are almost always covered in fog.

The park offers visitors plenty of activities suitable for the whole family, such as hiking, swimming, and camping. The best time to visit the Great Smoky Mountains with your family is autumn, when the plant life is vibrant and colorful. However, you can see the park at any time of the year.

Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon in Arizona is well known all over the planet. Millions of visitors flock to the Grand Canyon National Park to witness one of the wonders of the world.

The park is quite extensive, and there are many things to do at the Grand Canyon for visitors. You can hike the hundreds of trails or take a scenic drive around the park for its breathtaking views.

Signature attractions include a range of geothermal hot springs, Old Faithful Geyser, and Grand Prismatic Spring. There are lakes in the park that are heavenly, and camping is also an option.

Glacier National Park

As the name suggests, Glacier National Park is famous for its snow-covered mountain ranges and subsequent water bodies. The water from the mountain peaks turns into over 700 lakes that extend across the entire park.

Glacier National Park includes a UNESCO Heritage Site, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, which shows the park’s status. There are dozens of hiking trails across the park, including Trail of the Cedars and Iceberg Lake Trail.

If you prefer a drive to a hike, you can take a scenic drive in the park along Going-to-the-Sun Road. You will need ranger services to tour some portions of the park and do activities like Stargazing, especially if you go on a family trip.

Zion National Park

Utah is one of the most beautiful parks in the country, including Arches and Canyonlands. Zion National Park is an excellent choice for a family trip to the state. Zion Park is a great area for a family of people who like exciting activities.

The park is an excellent choice for hiking with Angel’s Landing, a 1500 foot natural staircase. The Narrows is a ten-mile hiking trail that runs through Zion Canyon, where you have to hike upstream through the Virgin River alongside a very scenic view.

If hiking is too cumbersome for you, you can go on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, about sixty miles long. You will see many of the park’s landmarks which are a historic part of the state.
