The Chichicastenango market in Guatemala is around two and a half hours away from Antigua and can either be reached by a tourist shuttle for $5 each way, or the local buses which are considerably less. I was in the market for a good hat and a pair of boots, but all I could find was tourist crap and plastic junk. So I just bought a couple gifts and called it a day.
