that I took during the spring of 2008 of dirty floors, rotten vegetables, sacks
of dehydrated anchovies, peppers, and millet, and mangoes cut up and packaged in
bags.

Mangoes are often cut up an put into bags
so that people can just buy them and eat right away. A good idea, as I do not
assume that most market goers are carrying knives to remove the mango peels.
