Entomophagy

Entomophagy is the act of eating insects. Although this is a general term that generally means the consumption of insects, in usage is is mostly applied to humans.

All around the world, humans practice entomophagy as they eat insects as part of their tradition foods. It is estimated that 80% of the countries in the world practice entomophagy on some level, and over 1,000 types of insects are eaten by humans all around the world.

Some of the most commonly consumed insects are ants, grasshoppers, crickets, scorpions, worms, beetles, and tarantulas.
