The following travel photographs were taken at the Chichicastenango Market in Guatemala in the spring of 2008. They are of Mayan women with babies in papooses, Guatemalan people selling fruits and vegetables, a drunk man laying in the streets, indigenous women selling household supplies, men weighing grain, and Guatemalan girls in dresses.

Guatemalan girl carrying a chair. Perhaps this is how the kids train to carry the heavy baggage of market day.

Drunk man laying in the streets. It is my mission to collect photographs of passed out men in the streets of countries all over the world.

The market at Chichicastenango takes place every Thursday and Sunday 140 kilometers northwest of Guatemala City. The town is full of stucco white buildings, shops, and, on market days, the streets are full of vendors selling everything from lime to chicken parts to Mayan textiles and clothing.
