Standing over red-hot lava on Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala. If this tender edge of dried lava breaks, I am done for haha.

Lava flowing out of Pacaya volcano in Guatemala. You can get really close to it, poke it with sticks, toss things in it. Mira? Hey! Where did Mira go?!?

Mira in front of the lava from Pacaya Volcano. Is it just Mira, or does something look really hot in this picture?

Vagabond Journey.com in hot lava. Who's hotter?

Oh yes, there are tourist here too. Taking pictures of the red hot lava is an old past time of volcanologists and tourists alike.

Flowing hot lava. I have always had a fascination with lava as a kid. I use to dream about it. My mom would explain it to me all the time. I wonder know how my mom could know so much about hot lava. I think she told me it is where dinosaurs come from. I did not find any dinosaurs on Pacaya Volcano.

Why?
It is beyond me why you would take the time out of your life to leave this comment. Must not have much else going on.

Nice
Thanks for the pics! I'm thinking of making the very same journey. I'm having a tough tim finding out if the lava is flowing right now. I'd hate to go all the way there to find out it stopped last week. Any ideas on that? Oh and what airport did you fly into, hotel, guide, etc. Thanks so much.

How to get to Pacaya Volcano
Generally, you go with a tour group. The locals have it pretty tied down, so it may be difficult to go up alone. It is not too expensive, like $5 or a little more.
